The Faculty of Psychology of Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta (UMBY) once again inaugurated the graduates of the Master of Professional Psychology Study Program through the Psychologists' Professional Oath of Class XXVI, which was held at the Lullilo Ballroom, Loman Park Hotel Yogyakarta, Thursday (24/4).

A total of 12 students were officially inaugurated and took the Psychologist's Professional Oath led by the Chairperson of the DIY HIMPSI Region, Miftahun Ni'mah Suseno, M.A., Psychologist. This event was also attended by the Chancellor of UMBY, Dr. Ir. Agus Slamet, S.TP., M.P., MCE, who congratulated all graduates and invited them to continue practicing noble values ​​in professional service.

"Congratulations and success to all new psychologists of Class XXVI. Hopefully you can devote your knowledge and expertise optimally, and become part of the noble ideals embedded in the Mars Mercu Buana, namely becoming individuals who are useful to the nation and state," he said.

Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Reny Yuniasanti, M.Psi., PhD., Psychologist, also gave an inspiring message about the importance of a lifelong learner attitude in this profession.

“The profession of Psychology requires us to continue learning and honing ourselves, both in terms of knowledge and empathy. I hope that today's graduates will continue to grow into adaptive and visionary individuals. This is the starting point for moving and contributing together to help solve Indonesia's problems. Currently, mental health issues always arise and become our homework. We hope that we can collaborate and contribute to solving mental health issues,” she said.

Deep appreciation was also conveyed by the Head of the Professional Psychology Masters Study Program, Sri Muliati Abdullah, M.A., Psychologist. She congratulated and thanked the dedication of the students who had gone through a long process in pursuing professional education.

“We are proud and greatly appreciate the struggle of the graduates who have gone through various academic and practical challenges. This is not the end, but the beginning of your real contribution as psychologists in society,” she said.

Also present were Ir. Wafit Dinarto, M.Sc., MCE as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Tutut Dewi Astuti, S.E., M.Sc., Ak., CA., CTA., ACPA., CTFAIA., MCE., CAP., CTT as Vice Rector for Resources, Managers and Lecturers of the Professional Psychology Masters Study Program and Educators who have played a role in their education process so far, and the guardians of the students.

This event is a momentum for the official inauguration of the graduates as professional Psychologists who are ready to uphold their professional ethics and social responsibilities. This is also a real form of the commitment of the UMBY Faculty of Psychology to continue to produce quality graduates who are able to make real contributions to Indonesian society.
