The success of the learning process in students is influenced by the suitability between the teaching method and the student's learning style itself. Learning styles are divided into three types, namely visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The combination of the three types of learning styles, such as visual-auditory, visual-kinesthetic, or others can also be a student's learning style. Currently, many schools understand the differences in student learning styles, so they try to apply appropriate learning methods, so that students can learn optimally.

Based on this, Katrim Alifa Putrikita, M.Psi., Psychologist, from the Psychological Service Bureau (BLP) of the Faculty of Psychology, Mercu Buana University of Yogyakarta (UMBY) and practicing at SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3 Yogyakarta, became the Psychologist in charge of implementing the Learning Style Test. Katrim together with the BLP assistant accompanied all grade 1 students in carrying out the Learning Style Test which was held for two days, namely on Monday, July 22, 2024 and Tuesday, July 23, 2024. A total of 136 grade 1 students at SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3 Yogyakarta took the learning style test.

Katrim Alifa said that the Learning Style Test aims to determine the type or learning style of each student, so that the learning provided to students is more appropriate. The results of the Psychological Examination (HPP) from the Learning Style Test will be given to the School, which will then be forwarded to the homeroom teacher and guardians.

"Through this, both teachers and parents are expected to be able to adjust the learning method for children because they have known their learning style since the beginning of elementary school. In addition to being able to optimize the teaching and learning process, this is also useful for minimizing the risk of stress in children due to the learning process that is not in accordance with their learning style," said Katrim Alifa.

Riski Husna Wardani, S.kep., Ns, who is a UKS officer and also the Person in Charge of Learning Style Tests said that this activity is very helpful for homeroom teachers in teaching students with various learning styles/models. "In the future, it is hoped that homeroom teachers can apply the results of the learning style tests given," he said.
